(UPDATE) The only person to comment thus far has pointed to the fact that I was previously banned, without appeal, from Daily Kos, due to a sustained right wing attack by trolls who misrepresented the intent of a diary and turned it into something ugly. I was automatically "HR'd" into oblivion and my requests to appeal this banishment were never answered. It is my hope that the community understands that this is a tactic used all too successfully by the right, and will give me a chance to represent myself here as a diarist. If you prefer I remain banished, that's fine. All I'm asking is a chance to prove myself.
The links do NOT have viruses. That is another common right wing meme -- "Don't look at that! It has VIRUSESES!!!" I ask the reader to employ common sense, and I thank you for your patience. As I am a hated enemy of the remaining Andrew Breitbart empire, I expect there will be much more of this nonsense in efforts to drive me out of here once again.
To fully understand and appreciate this short story, you need to familiarize yourself with the offerings on the website Breitbart Unmasked, and the right wing blogs called Hogewash, Allergic2Bull, "The Other McCain" and Kimberlin Unmasked. If you don't care to visit these blogs, I understand and hope you will enjoy this story of a reputation ruined beyond repair by right wing nut jobs for no reason other than they wanted to.
This Franz Kafka story appealed to me, and I hope he doesn't mind my lifting liberally from the first section of it because it really speaks to my life. A year ago from right now, a "Google Search" of the name Bill Schmalfeldt would reveal links to my various blog writings, my work to help fund a cure for Parkinson's Disease, links to the volunteer surgery I underwent to see if people in the earlier stages of Parkinson's could survive Deep Brain Stimulation surgery, and links to my books.
A Google Search of the name "Bill Schmalfeldt" will come back now with much different results, thanks to a coordinated smear attack by the blowflies that buzz around the dessicated corpse of Andrew Breitbart.
